Charleston
harbor on Coos Bay
is the heart of this
community. It
is home port to a busy commercial fishing fleet, which supplies a variety of
local seafood processors. It is also the site of a bustling marina serving charter
boat operators, sports fishermen, crabbers and recreational boaters.
The
harbor area includes a variety of restaurants, lodging and
shops. In addition to the tackle, seafood and gift
shops, there are
marine
supply
and
repair
operations and other firms offering a variety of services. Most everything
is within comfortable walking distance.
